Question: Gold Award ideas (community service project)?
I need to start my project by the summer, so I need an idea very soon! I need 80 hours of community service toward this project (fund-raising for my project does not count toward hours, but I can fund-raise). The part that I have most trouble with is thinking of a “long lasting effect” so something that will still be available or something that another person can do when I am done with the project (building or making something like a garden or book shelf that will still be there, also a garden someone else has to take care of. But I DO NOT want to do a garden or book shelf for my project, those are just examples to understand). I am interested in:
Animals (But I did my Silver Award for an animal shelter so I may want to do something different)
Cooking/baking
Music
Art/photography
Awareness for something like AIDS or abusive relationships (But I don’t just want to raise awareness, I want to do something more)
Helping kids with disabilities
Giving shoes to people in need (like TOMS shoes)
I’m willing to hear any other suggestions as well.
I am giving best answer to the person who gives me many great ideas that I like and that fit my interests. Also, the answer has to also give me an idea of a good long lasting effect for the project.
